Study Guide Information
A Study Guide has been developed to enhance the financial, managerial, and operational effectiveness of drinking water and wastewater systems across the country and to create a national designation for qualified utility managers. The purpose of this manual is to provide managers and students interested in management with the tools they need to effectively manage utilities and develop capacity based on federal standards. This information is intended to be augmented with supplimental information provided by the Florida Rural Water Association.
The information and associated certification based on this reference and educational manual is designed to enhance the knowledge, professionalism, and effectiveness of modern managers of water and wastewater utilities. The knowledge gained from this manual and the demonstrated understanding of the information it contains will prepare utility managers for success in the water and wastewater industry. The demonstrated competency and effectiveness of utility managers will be enhanced and be of great value to the systems they manage. The passing of the associated examination and attaining a national certification will enhance the utility management profession, industry standing, and value to the public. The national certification will lead to confidence by the utility managers, the utility governing bodies, the water industry, and all of the folks who are provided service and products by the local water utility. The demonstrated competency and certification will give governing bodies of water and wastewater utilities a qualification certification and demonstrated competency standard for which to advertise and hire, which will lead to better utility manangement and compensation criteria for our industry. This manual and certification will benefit, improve, and further purlbic health and environmental protection from our Water Industry!
