What is the condition of your system, how do you manage your assets? GIS/GPS mapping and Asset Management benefits water and wastewater utilities of all sizes.  80-90% of utilities data is tied to a geographic location, yet many are still relying on old data.  Utilities need to know where their valves, pumps, meters, manholes, lift stations, etc. are located in order to increase efficiency and decrease down time in times of main breaks or other emergencies.  Likewise, asset management plans allow a utility to keep track of their materials to properly plan improvements and replacements in the future. 
 
This training will provide a detailed overview of GIS/GPS mapping and asset management as well as a demonstration of equipment and programs that will help your utility become current. We will also discuss when to repair or replace your pipelines, and how to mitigate any of your vulnerable assets to protect them and get the full life out of all of your assets.
